“The work delves into the ancient process of rammed earth construction, where layers of soil are compacted within formwork. Each piece is crafted from earth, supplemented by recycled crushed brick and lime. Through a meticulous process loose earth is transformed into tangible objects. Employing a single-sourced earth blend generates a monolithic appearance, concealing the individual layers and method of construction. An intervention layer, infused with terracotta pigment, accentuates a singular layer within the composite structure. When arranged collectively, the objects form a field condition; the varying intervention layers unveil the interconnectedness of the object’s formation process. Sharing a common genesis. Shaped by the same formwork, objects appear similar yet subtly diverge, influenced by preceding iterations and impacting subsequent ones, each becoming a product “with time.”
