education (teaching)

University of Nebraska – Lincoln

Since 2020, Adam Wiese has led a design studio at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Sponsored by RDG Planning & Design, the studio explores the concept of the dérive through a series of courses that leverage Narrative Architecture to develop frameworks for exploration within architectural design. This concept, drawn from his mentors at the WAI Think Tank, allows students the freedom to derive untethered, embracing the ambiguity inherent in an open-ended studio design brief.

Co teachers include: Catrin Cook (2020), Nate Gieselman (2020-24), and Scott Lafferty (2025)

Kaneko Summer Camps

Since 2020, Adam Wiese, in conjunction with RDG Planning & Design, has been planning and leading the summer architecture/design thinking camps at Kaneko in Omaha, Nebraska. The summer programs focus on the implementation of design thinking/making, introducing middle school students to design principles, and then implementing them through scaled model installations and structures.
