Crete, NE Main Street

Studio Ambiguous was approached by the mayor and city officials to study the downtown corridor and propose a design intervention. After a series of studies interviews it was determined the lack of green space and native plantings was impacting the perception of the downtown corridor as well as contributing to added heat island effect.

In conjunction with local business owners Studio Ambiguous identified a series of parking spaces that could be reclaimed and turned into mini parklet islands featuring tress and native plants. In addition to plantings studio ambiguous worked with a local fabricator to produce a series of benches to add to the parklet experience.
